Woah, it's already March!

I just realized that I haven't updated since the end of December!  A lot has changed since then.  I still can't return to work in the Bakery at ET.  When I'm not with Xena, work-wise, I have been concentrating on Etsy and some remote copy editing, much to the utter neglect of my knitting.  I can finally drive again.  I feel liberated, kind of.  I still have a lot of work to do until I achieve true physical confidence.  I have made great strides lately.  I am hyper-fixated on my knee.  I just want to feel better and stronger.

This is the 4th time I've knit this sweater.

...and it definitely won't be the last!

There are more photos and details on Ravelry.

Xena tooks these photos of me which is always a hilarious situation!

It was so sunny and warm in our yard this afternoon but now it's freezing!

I think I bought this yarn in Salem.

 It's Universal Deluxe Bulky Superwash.

I'm sure I've said it before but this is a terrific beginner's intarsia project.

I just sleep with all of my home exercise equipment on the bed because I use it as soon as I get up and right before I go to bed.  Now that I have all of this stuff, I think it's great.  They are all very helpful tools that I think everyone can use to exercise on a large, flat space.

OK, here are some of my finished WIPs.

I just don't have nearly as much time to knit as I used to have when we lived in CA.

These tubes were given to me instead of being thrown in the garbage.

I guess their colors could be VT or Washington themed.

No one ever taught me how to insert an afterthought heel.

These are super basic.  The heel that you insert is exactly the same as the toe.

These are some of the first shorties I ever knit.  I ran out of yarn and couldn't find anything remotely like the OG so whatevs!  You won't see it inside of a shoe.

I darned these little bad boys.

I've had to darn a lot of socks over the past year.  I can now say that many socks only last 1-3 years.

I started making this for Xena on X-Mas Eve.  It was a total PITA.

I hate crocheting with this kind of rough processed cotton.  I had to use Google translate for the Euro instructions which wasn't the end of the world, more amusing than anything.

I had some great moments knitting and watching the Bills win or lose.

I participated in a really cool holiday makers swap hosted by my IG buddy Jenna.

Out of tariff fear, I guess you can say I really treated myself in 2025.

My gift to Diane, was offering to knit her a pair of socks in any yarn of her choice.  She chose Anzula which is always a joy to knit with!

I finished an adorable pair of tweed socks with left overs from the Hot Dish cardigan I knit ages ago.

I really love both of these colors and how well they contrast.

I think I am probably going to have some pretty major knee surgery scars.

I didn't even think about it at the time.  As long as I can get back to normal IDGAF what my knee looks like.

Here is sweet baby Henry wearing the socks I knit him!  He is a very peaceful baby and it is such a joy when he and Charlotte make an appearance at our knitting meet ups.

Here I am knitting at the Camel Club.  At this point, when I still had to wear my knee brace and it was cold outside, my knee was really sore all of the time.  I couldn't stand for extended periods of time but I just had to get out of the house.

This crazy and annoying thing happened last month.  Everything froze.

We had an usually high amount of snow over a brief period of time.  Then the temperature dropped significantly and Henrico turned to ice.

Xena's school was cancelled for a week and then partially cancelled and delayed for another week.  I sat outside and knit with her in the freezing ass cold for many days.  That shit was insane.  I thought my fingertips were going to break off.  I kept trying to imagine I was a Norwegian fisherman.

All of the icy weather inspired me to knit another pair of Homestay mitts.

The first pair I knit were right when Julia Farwell Clay released them during the pandemic.

Through all types of weather, Xena and I were outside.  We went crazy doing all of the things we hadn't done when I couldn't drive.

What else can I say?  We both just really love going to the movies and hanging out at libraries.

I made a few Labubu outfits at Xena's request.  Although I used to enjoy crocheting outfits for my Barbies in my youth, I must say that making Labubu clothes was tedious.  Thankfully, I don't think Xena cares I make any more outfits.

I am also working on these blue socks for myself with Cesium sock yarn.  I can't wait to start another sweater!  Alright, that's it.  Back to work!
