Fenix Crochet Sleeveless Top, stuff and thangs

My "Rhinebeck Sweater" is FINALLY finished.  I am going to try to knit one more new (and more colorful) garment to wear specifically for my big trip next month but I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to finish and block it in time.  We'll see...

Based on my chest measurements, I knit size 4.  I used a size E hook and some Fibre Co. Arranmore Light Donegal Heritage (fine merino wool/cashmere/silk) yarn that I've used on a few other projects.  I really wanted to have a versatile neutral colored top that I could wear under or over other garments or just on its own.

I have to admit that this is the first time I have ever struggled with a crochet pattern.  I crocheted the first triangular section without any difficulty but when I started working the increases and decreases above and below the top and bottom markers I just couldn't figure it out.  Finally, after frogging my work 5x (5 consecutive nights of Hell), I went on Ravelry and found out that there is A MAJOR ERROR IN THE FUCKING PATTERN that was published in the Pompom errata that I never received, even though I have a digital subscription?!  So I at least realized that I wasn't going insane.  I've never felt so simultaneously irritated and validated.

Anyway, even after I followed the change in the pattern, the only way I could get my stitches to look appealing was by omitting the YO in the INV-dec1 in the top body decreases but keeping the YO in the INV-dec1 in the 2nd triangular section.

Another modification I made was sc2tog-ing in the bottom of the armpits and in the entire scoop of the neckline in the front and back.

I am glad that this project challenged me and I am proud that I persevered through its completion.  I am even already considering crocheting another one just to see if I can glide through it without any further frustration.

It may not be obvious but unlike the design of most tanks, the 2 identical body pieces of this pattern are seamed together via mattress stitch down the middle of the front and back; so what looks like the neck when the pieces are laying flat, is actually the (seamless) armpits.

I am already 99.9% sure that I will not see anyone else wearing this sweater at Rhinebeck but hey, ya never know!

I knit these sporty ankle socks recently and posted them on IG but forgot to share them here.

I knit them with leftover Koigu KPPPM from Xena's crochet cardi.

I used size 0 needles and knit a 1.75" elastic band around my arch using my favorite sporty ankle sock pattern from Summer Lee Knits.

Many gifts to my hot mama friends have been gifted, so many that I forgot to take photos of all of them but here's a few!

Sweet baby Zev snuggling in his cozy blanket.

The cutest little cardi for baby Anne who should be popping out in a few weeks.

I've already knit this unborn baby more clothes than I made for Xena in utero.

I knit this Flax Sweater for Xena a while ago but wanted to share how cute she looked wearing it to preschool.

It is so rewarding to see my knits in action!

How the heck she managed to come home without any paint all over it is truly a miracle.
